**What excites you about joining the DataGrail team?**

I think the privacy space is seeing a lot of innovation, and I’m excited to be working with a great crew of smart folks.

**What has been your favorite project or challenge you’ve worked on in your career?**

Writing a machine learning system to find buying intent on Social Media.

**If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?**

I’d learn Portuguese. I have a lot of Brazilian friends, and I’ve been to Brazil several times.

**What do you enjoy doing in your free time?**

I have a terrible car habit. I raced 24 Hours of Lemons in a 1970 Corona with a 1JZ. I officially own the slowest transcontinental/Cannonball Run at 103 hours (head gaskets in a parking lot, pulled the tailhousing off the transmission in a different parking lot)… basically no sleep for 4 days. It was outstanding.

**Of the problems DataGrail’s software solves, which are you most excited to help work on?**

I’ve always been fascinated by “discovery” problems. So our live data map, and the ability to discover the information and PII locked up in them addresses a huge need.

**What does your family think you do at work?**

This might be a bit of a “programmer joke” but: wear headphones. They know I’m in another world when they’re on.
